I like using material I find around me in everyday items in order to create things that transcend what they once were. I enjoy the challenge of designing pieces using limited resources and the idea of reusing already existing goods.

My reclaimed tin jewelry is hand crafted from collected cans and tins. I use tins that have either a decorative enameled surface (as opposed to having a paper label), as well as ones that are simply silver. Since I use collected material, most pieces are either one of a kind or limited editions.

AnnaBuilt jewelry celebrates the allure of the ordinary. The pieces are unusual yet familiar.

Based in Brooklyn, NY, AnnaBuilt is Anna Johansson. She has a BFA in painting from Boston University and a Master of Arts in Teaching (K-12) from Rhode Island School of Design.
